Time trials "mock" meet next week
HPST families,
Next week we will be holding Time Trials for all swimmers aged 10 and under. These times are required by the Chesterfield Aquatic League for seeding certain age groups prior to the first meet of the summer season
📅 Time Trials Date: June 2nd ⏰ Time: 5:30 PM
Morning practice will still take place as usual. However, due to Time Trials, evening practice will be canceled that day. Swimmers participating in Time Trials are welcome to attend morning practice and then return for Time Trials in the evening.
Swimmers will complete: Freestyle and Backstroke
For our younger swimmers under age 6, please check with a coach to determine if your swimmer is ready to swim a full 25-meter length. If they are not quite ready yet, no worries! They do not need to attend Time Trials at this time and can still enter races later in the season once they are able to swim 25 meters.
Time Trials are also a great opportunity for new swimmers to experience what a real swim meet feels like. We will have the starter system in place so swimmers can practice starting with the buzzer in a fun and supportive environment.
⏱️ Parents: We need timers to help during Time Trials! This is a great opportunity to learn the timing role if you’ve never done it before. It’s simple to learn and honestly gives you the best seat in the house! Please note that volunteering for Time Trials does NOT count toward team service requirements. Sign ups to help with volunteering can be found here: https://hphammerheads.swimtopia.com.
I have pinned the "Upcoming Event Calendar" to the top of Swimtopia and when jobs are open to sign up, you will see a green button (see the picture below). Next, click the green button to sign up. The sign-up for timers needed during time trials is open now.
Please reach out if you have any questions on Band.
Thank you!
