Good morning, HPST families!

I hope everyone was able to get some rest after last night's meet.

As you know, we were unable to complete the meet due to the persistent lightning in the area. We waited as long as we could, but each lightning delay continued to be extended.

We know that several of our swimmers still have events left to swim, and Woodland Pond feels the same way. Because of this, we are exploring the possibility of finishing the meet this evening during our regular evening practice time.

Last night, we discussed with Woodland Pond the possibility of running the remainder of the meet with a "bare bones"  crew. We know that many of you have already completed your  shifts- or have even worked above and beyond what was required-and we truly appreciate your flexibility and support. Woodland Pond has also been asked to bring workers who are prepared to step in and help fill any needed positions.

Here's the plan:

• By 12:00 p.m. today, please declare your swimmer in SwimTopia if they are available to return this evening and complete their remaining events.
• If you are available to help run the meet, please sign up for a position.
• At 12:00 p.m., the board will review swimmer declarations and volunteer sign-ups to determine whether we have enough participants and volunteers to safely and successfully complete the meet.

We will send another update later this afternoon with the final decision and any additional details.
